What is your fitness story?
In 2007, without a clue as to what I was getting myself into, I did my first triathlon after graduating from Mizzou. I had borrowed a hybrid bike, didn’t air up the tires, and raced in a cotton t-shirt and baggy red shorts. My family was at the finish line and ever since I crossed it that day, I was hooked! I love the community of athletes that the sport provides, the people and places it has introduced me to over the years, and the opportunity to push through previously set limits and boundaries.
I raced professionally for two years while heading up the marketing department at Innovation360, a mental health company based in Dallas. When my husband and I transitioned to Kansas City at the end of 2015, I moved into a full-time athlete role. I had the confidence to do this after a very successful leap up to the pro field, with 2 wins in my debut season, 10 podiums and a top 10 performance at the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in 2015. Looking back on my path, I’m amazed that I get to do this as my career now, but “chasing better” every day is definitely my passion.
Why do you love Wahoo and how do you plan on using it in your fitness routine?
The design of the KICKR replicates a very realistic, road-like feel and offers a plethora of software training options. The KICKR does everything wirelessly, so I don’t have a pile of cords and cables. Wahoo makes it easy to combine technology and training, which keeps me motivated throughout all the tough training cycles. It has seriously enhanced my training because it's easy to use, true to real-road scenarios, and tech savvy.
